Equality

Our current Equality Objective will address student mental health and wellbeing as part of our commitment to preventing mental health difficulties that may start in adolescence - but have a greater impact in adult life.

This involves a number of aspects, such as:

  • Investigating the role of mindfulness and yoga in supporting young people with stress and anxiety.

  • Completing a Pupil Health and Well-being survey, analysing results and taking action to address any concerns.

  • Working with the Youth Engagement Officer to educate young people about online safety and other issues which can cause stress

  • Providing training for pastoral staff in dealing with young people with low mood and depression and self-harm

  • Trialling different interventions to support individual needs.

  • Updating the PSHE programme to include age-appropriate information about issues related to well-being.
