We are thrilled that our bid to refurbish the Food Technology classroom and to create another food room has been given the go ahead by the school governors.
As part of the build and refurbish project, the D&T department are committed to involving our students in the fund raising efforts to equip the two food rooms, and have given a great deal of thought into imaginative, motivational and engaging ideas which will also generate interest and commitment to the new food rooms. This includes a ‘Pop Up’ restaurant, the school production refreshments and various cake stalls during the next few months with the different year groups.
Additionally we are organising a ‘Food Technology Raffle’ (to be drawn on 9th February at the ‘Pop Up’ restaurant) to add to our fund raising efforts. We have collected an amazing collection of generous prizes from local businesses and organisations from around the Lavington and Devizes area. To date, Planks of Lydeway, Edwin Giddings, Walter Rose, Thornton’s, Pizza Express, 5 a Day Fruit and Vegetables, the Co-op, The Healthy Life Shop, Ma Cuisine, Miller Cook shop, The Green Dragon, Paxcroft Farm and many other individuals have generously committed to sponsoring our fund raising venture. The raffle prize list is wonderful! Raffle tickets are being sold from Mrs Allen in the school office at £1 per ticket and also available at the forthcoming options evening and Year 9 parents evening – look out for the Food Technology display showing the list of prizes for the raffle and the plans for the new food rooms.
