Uniform Policy 2009/2010

You are expected to come to school clean, tidy and suitably dressed in the approved uniform.  It is important that you take a personal interest in your appearance as by doing so you create a pride in yourselves and your school.

The following regulations will help you be sure about what you can and cannot wear.

  • Extremes in the style of hair are not acceptable.
  • In principle jewellery should not be worn to school.  If ears are pierced then one small stud or sleeper is acceptable.
  • A simple chain and medallion (such as a crucifix) is acceptable but should not be visible.
  • Only one ring will be permitted, although it is better if none are worn.  One charity bracelet can be worn, but no others.
  • Students should not wear make-up, although a little discrete foundation is tolerated.
  • Casual sweatshirts, hoodies and similar tops should not be worn to school.
  • Training shoes and other casual shoes must not be worn.
  • If a belt  is worn, it should be plain and black.
  • All clothing and personal property must be clearly marked with the owner’s name.

If you break the uniform rules, you should expect to be punished by a detention without warning.  Therefore, if there is a good reason why you are not able to wear the correct uniform, you must have a note from your parent or carer explaining this.

Remember:  a neat and tidy uniform shows that you care about yourself and your school.
