Careers Support & Guidance
We have designed our Sixth Form Careers Programme to ensure that it meets the needs of all our learners, no matter what their career aspirations are. Our careers programme supports the Gatsby Benchmarks.
Whilst at Lavington Sixth Form, students will have a range of opportunities to learn about different careers and the potential pathways they could take to progress into their chosen career.
All students have access to:
- Weekly careers newsletter full of opportunities from employers, universities and careers organisations and labour market information
- Information about university open day opportunities, work experience, virtual career information events and from higher education institutions are shared with students.
- Careers guidance from a qualified and impartial career advisor, which students can access as many times as they need to.
The year 12 careers programme involves:
- A visit to a university
- UCAS higher education events including a visit to a university
- UCAS / higher education support around personal statements and the application process
- Information about apprenticeships
- Mock interview day
- Work experience
- The world of work delivered through a personal development programme as well as in lessons
- Personalised support for Oxbridge and medical students
