Covid-19

Due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, most exams and assessments did not take place in 2019/20 and 2020/21.  As a result of this, the government announced that it would not publish school data in autumn 2020 or autumn 2021.

Definitions

Progress 8 - how much progress pupils make between KS2 and KS4 compared to pupils in England with similar results at KS2.  This is based on results in up to 8 qualifications.

Disadvantaged PupilsDisadvantaged pupils are those who were eligible for free school meals at any time during the last 6 years and children looked after (in the care of the local authority for a day or more or who have been adopted from care).

Attainment 8 - Schools get a score based on how well pupils have performed in up to 8 quali?cations, which include English, maths, 3 English Baccalaureate quali?cations including sciences, computer science, history, geography and languages, and 3 other additional approved quali?cations

Pupils staying education or entering employment - This shows the number of pupils who either stayed in education or went into employment after finishing key stage 4 (after year 11, usually aged 16). This is for pupils who finished year 11 two years before the year of publication. For example, the 2019 table shows pupils who finished year 11 in 2017, which is the most recent data currently available. This figure covers any sustained education or employment destination.
