Catering

Information from Innovate, the school catering provider:

We are delighted to partner with the students, teachers, and staff within Lavington School

Our aim, along with the schools’ is to provide all students with an exceptional catering experience. Our very talented Executive Chefs and our fantastic catering teams will be serving exciting menus packed with healthy ingredients, which are full of variety, and with loads of interesting new things to try. It’s important that the food tastes as good as it looks, and we’re sure you won’t be disappointed.

What’s on the menu?

Innovate has long been considered the most inventive school caterer and that’s because we’re very clear about our food. All our dishes are prepared every day using quality, fresh and seasonal ingredients that are responsibly sourced. As well as ensuring the food on the plate is healthy, we want our customers to understand the importance of eating the right foods and help them with their food and nutrition journey.

  • A huge selection of 'grab and go' items including baguettes, paninis, burritos and salads to name a few.
  • A variety of healthy, tasty main meals prepared fresh every day from carefully selected ingredients. The menu will follow a similar weekly pattern, so you know what to expect, providing over 35 choices each day in addition to the ever-popular chef specials, themed events and loyalty schemes.
  • Our Street Vibes range, global street food that tours the world. It’s always changing; from Korean fried chicken, Chinese bao buns, to Greek souvlaki, there’s always something new to try!
  • A salad bar bursting with flavour, from traditional garden salads through to composite salads with a wide variety of grains, proteins, and dressings
  • Theme days we're travelling around the world! We'll go to different regions each half term, with 3 days of special dishes alongside Street Vibes street food for the whole half term. There are also lots of individual special days and promotions that will run throughout the year!

I have a free school meal allowance, what can I have?

We want to ensure that all of our customers have access to a healthy nutritious meal, with this in mind, we have some meal deals in place. These include the hot main meal offer, a hot wrap or hot chefs special with a hot dessert.

We have also developed our “Chill Deal”, 4 items can be purchased for the free school meal price. Cold items such as filled rolls, crudites, fruit pots etc. (Usually priced at £1.10 each) can be bundled together at the free school meal price. However, students can purchase any items they wish that fall within the free school meal allocation, including the breakfast and break time offer at the school.

Tell us what you think

Once you’ve tried our service, let us know what you think. Drop us an email at  hello@impactfood.co.uk to tell us about your dining experience. We also run regular customer and parent surveys which are sent out via the school: with the results being used to improve our service and adapt our menus.

We look forward to seeing you soon!

 Cashless Catering System

The cashless catering system can be used for the purchase of all food and drink that is available from the canteen and outside Pods

Benefits include:

  • Convenience – no need to look for change every morning
  • Confidence that dinner money is spent on food in school – not in the shops on the way to or from school
  • Healthy eating can be encouraged – parents can access details of what their child has purchased
  • Children on free school meals remain anonymous – their accounts are automatically topped up each day
  • Problems related to carrying cash are reduced – no loss or theft

Each student is set up with an account and funds can be added to the account via ParentPay. Payments to ParentPay can be made using either debit card or credit card.  If you require help with accessing your Parentpay account please contact enquiries@lavington.wilts.sch.uk

Our expectation is that the vast majority of parents will pay online, however if parents are unable to pay in this way there will be a ‘cash loader’ on site that can also be used to credit your child’s account. You can pay in as much as you like to cover the cost of meals for a week or a month.

Free School Meals

Who is entitled to free school meals?

Free school meals are not provided automatically. They can be awarded only if you receive any of the following:

  • Income Support
  • Job Seeker's Allowance (income-based)
  • Employment and Support Allowance (income-related)
  • support under part six of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
  • the Guarantee element of State Pension Credit
  • Child Tax Credit - providing you are NOT entitled to Working Tax Credit and your family's annual income (as assessed by HMRC) is not more than £16,190 (as at 6 April 2012)
  • Working Tax Credit 'run-on' - the payment you may receive for a further four weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit
  • Universal Credit (provided you have an annual net earned income of no more than £7,400, as assessed by earnings from up to three of your most recent assessment periods)

If you are receiving working Tax Credit you are not entitled to free school meals, regardless of your income.

The exception is during the four-week 'run on' period when you may have stopped qualifying for but are still receiving payment of Working Tax Credit.

Children who receive Income Support or income-based Job Seeker's Allowance in their own right qualify as well. All pupils who do not qualify for free school meals must be charged the same amount for the same quantity of the same item.
