Lavington School

EQUA Trust

Transport

Free school transport is available to students in year 7 – 11 who live more than three miles from Lavington and within the transport catchment area as determined by Wiltshire Council. This is reduced to two miles for students who receive free school meals or the maximum level of working tax credit.

To apply for free school transport please complete the Under 16 application form, available below. Students are then allocated to buses by Wiltshire Council Passenger Transport.

Many of our students travel to Lavington by car. For safety reasons, it is extremely important that parents drop students off in the designated parking area and do not enter the area at the front of the school where coaches will be dropping off.

At the end of the day students are lined up according to their bus number. Duty staff will then call the bus number and send students to board their bus safely.

Students are issued with a bus pass which they must show to the driver on request. A very high standard of behaviour is expected from students using the buses. All students are instructed to report any problems to school staff. If poor behaviour is a problem, a warning letter will be sent home and students can lose the privilege of free school transport.
