Lavington school is excited to be opening its doors to the first cohort of sixth form students in September 2018.
Our collaboration with Matravers school has enabled us for the first time in our schools history to be able to offer our students the opportunity to enter the next phase on their education on the Lavington site.
We are delighted to be able to offer our students the same excellent educational and pastoral provision they have been use to through key stage 3 and 4 as they embark on the final stage of their formal academic career.
Through this collaboration we are thrilled to be able to offer a range of subjects on our school site which include, maths, further maths, biology, chemistry, physics, psychology, history, food, English Literature and sociology. Our students are also able to enjoy a greater range of subjects on our sister site in Westbury where transport will be arranged.
Our first group of students will have the opportunity to help design their sixth form base and contribute to the planning of their extra-curricular activities.
This is a very exciting time for Lavington School for both students and staff.
There are still opportunities to apply for a place in the sixth form. Please contact Mr Ford for further details.
We have been offered the amazing opportunity to expand the provision for our students by forming a collaborative 6th form with Matravers School.
We believe that this will allow our students a wider range of post 16 options. We have had a positive response from parents to the survey but as expected there are many questions about how this will work and about the courses on offer therefore we would like to make you aware of some dates/events.
We would like to thank all parents who have already completed the online questionnaire about the 6th Form. Your responses have been very helpful to us and will enable us to plan to meet your needs. If you have not yet had the opportunity to respond you will find the survey details have been sent out via parent portal.
The consultation period on the proposed Sixth Form admissions criteria for 2017/2018 has now closed.
We can confirm that all respondants were in favour of the proposed criteria as shown in the document below.
Wiltshire Local Authority will now be informed of the outcome.
