The School Games Mark is a Government led awards scheme launched in 2012 to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community.

Schools in England are able to assess themselves across bronze, silver and gold levels of the Mark. Last year we received the Gold award and only 4% of Secondary Schools Nationally achieved this. It is with great pride and thanks to the fantastic PE team that we can announce we have been awarded Gold again this year.

The verifier’s report states:

“Lavington School has been awarded the Gold Mark Award for the academic year 2014/2015.

Lavington School received a validation visit for their application for a Mark award on Tuesday 24th November 2015. It was clear from the evidence provided the school met the criteria to achieve a Gold Mark and exceeded the criteria in every category. This Gold Mark Award represents the excellent and hard work the school has attained over the 2014/2015 academic year.”

The verifier also congratulated us on being only one of two schools in the country to receive the Gold Award in back-to-back years.
