As part of the Level 2 BTEC Sport course, Year 11 students had to plan and complete a 6 week training programme. At the end of their programme, six members of the Army came in and put the students through a variety of fitness tests, problem solving challenges and a gun run.
The gun run was the big challenge which involved moving two large tractor tyres, two car tyres, two 20kg boxes, a barrel and an 8ft log over 40 metres which included going under a 10 metre long net. The students rose to the challenge and the competitiveness kicked in as two teams battled it out to win the race. All their training had paid off as both teams completed the challenge in very respectable times.
