Congratulations to Sam McGibbon who in through to the next round of Rotary Young Chef Competition

There were six entrants in this District level competition at Crewkerne and Sam was lucky enough to be chosen to go through the Regional competition which will be held in Waterlooville at the end of March. 

Sam cooked the same dishes that won him the Club level competition back in November but he did improve a few elements of the each dish.

  • Mushroom Pot with onions & stilton served with rosemary soda bread
  • Chargrilled mackerel with home pickled beetroot and chargrilled apple salad (banana shallots, pickled ginger, chives and black sesames seeds), Basmati and wild rice with Spring onions served with a a crème fraiche wasabi sauce
  • Warm Lemon cake served with blueberries & cream
