Lavington school is excited to be opening its doors to the first cohort of sixth form students in September 2018.

Our new and exciting collaboration with Devizes School has enabled us for the first time in our schools history to be able to offer our students the opportunity to enter the next phase on their education on the Lavington site.

We are delighted to be able to offer our students the same excellent educational and pastoral provision they have been use to through key stage 3 and 4 as they embark on the final stage of their formal academic career.

Through this collaboration we are thrilled to be able to offer a range of subjects on our school site which are maths, biology, chemistry, psychology, history, geography, food, and sociology. Health and Social Care and PE will be taught across both sites. Our students are also able to enjoy a greater range of subjects on our sister site in Devizes. Transport between the two sites will be arranged and organised by the school..

Our first group of students will have the opportunity to help design their sixth form base (the isobuild) and contribute to the planning of their extra-curricular activities.

This is a very exciting time for Lavington School for both students and staff.

There are still opportunities to apply for a place in the sixth form. Please contact Mr Ford (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) for further details and if you have any questions or require further information.

Induction information

We are pleased to have appointed a head of sixth form for the Lavington Campus, which is Ms Telford.  Ms Telford brings a wealth of experience to this position and has some great plans for ensuring a successful and excellent start to the sixth form on the Lavington site.

On Wednesday 4 July, all students are cordially invited to a welcome assembly on the Devizes campus, commencing at 8.30am. This will be followed by a tour of the facilities at the site and a chance to meet the sixth form leadership team.  For those students studying courses at the Devizes site, there will then be course induction and an opportunity to meet their teachers.

Induction days at the Lavington site are on 9 and 10 July at 8.45am. During this two day programme students will meet their teachers and experience sixth form lessons in their chosen subjects.  There will be application forms available, so that Devizes can complete their records appropriately, however, there will be no need for another interview for the sixth form.

On Thursday 23 August (results day) enrolment will take place at 10.30am at Lavington School.  This will involve a quick interview following their results to check that the students have made realistic choices based on their actual results, and to discuss any adjustments which may be necessary.  If additional support is needed in this process, there may be a need for a further meeting at Devizes in the afternoon.

The start of term for Lavington based courses is Tuesday 4 September, when timetables will be issued.  On Wednesday 5 September there is a welcome event at Devizes.  We will provide transport to this event for all students.
