This is a full time permanent post, or part time (0.5 - 1.0) for the right candidate, from 1 January 2019 or 25 February 2019.

We are high achieving school that is imaginative and creative in its approach to teaching and learning and is keen to look for continued and sustained improvement.  We benefit from a wonderful rural setting, surrounded by beautiful and historic countryside. The majority of our students live in nearby villages, and thrive in our supportive,  positive, nurturing environment, achieving academic excellence for all.

We are fully committed to providing high quality education for children whatever their age.  We are at an exciting phase in our development where we are forming the Equa Multi  Academy Trust with local rural primary schools to provide an all through education system.  In addition, we opened our doors to our first cohort of sixth form students this September.  This is in collaboration with Devizes sixth form.

This is an ideal opportunity for an ambitious newly qualified science teacher to gain their first post, or for an experienced teacher. The ability to teach physics preferably to A level, would be an advantage.

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed teacher to join our dedicated and  mutually supportive team of science teachers.

The closing date for applications is Monday 8 October and interviews will be held Friday 12 October.

We are looking for a suitably qualified and experienced colleague to take on the dual role of Chief Finance Officer of Equa Multi Academy Trust and School Business Manager of Lavington School.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a Multi Academy Trust in a senior leadership role, responsible for managing the trust’s finances and for clear reporting on the financial position to the trust board, ensuring the business remains safe and secure whilst delivering the long-term vision.

Equa is a new mixed Multi Academy Trust, due to form in March 2019. It consists of one secondary academy, one special school and five primary schools, and has an ambitious growth plan. We are looking for a passionate and ambitious professional who understands how the excellent management of finance and resources can support students in making exceptional progress. The successful candidate will be passionate about helping every child succeed and improve their life chances and prepared to work collaboratively for the benefit of young people. Initially, the post holder will lead the financial strategy through the pre-conversion phase of Equa, transitioning to the CFO role of the MAT when it is formed. Flexibility, resilience and an ability to prioritise are essential, along with the confidence to remodel new ways of working with existing team members and the skill to lead this change.

Candidates will:

• Be a part or fully qualified accountant (with a professional accountancy qualification and resulting CPD: ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent qualification).

• Be experienced in working at senior level in a medium/large organisation, and able to lead, inspire, collaborate and challenge and manage growth and change.

• Be a successful innovator of improvement who is able to demonstrate positive impact.

• Have a clear vision of future development opportunities.

• Possess effective leadership skills with the ability to motivate and steer others towards achieving successful objectives.

• Have a successful track record of finance leadership with experience of creating a healthy, sustainable business and income generation

• Have the passion and drive to help the trust realise its vision and potential.

• Be able to manage budgets starting at 5.5 million and student numbers of 1300, due to rise in line with an ambitious growth strategy.

Previous experience in education is desirable but not essential.

This role would be ideal for someone who would like to transition from School Business Manager (SBM) to Chief Finance Officer (CFO). Equally, we would welcome applications from existing CFOs with the acknowledgement that going forward, the balance in time commitment (and hence also salary) between CFO and SBM responsibility will change in line with Trust growth.

Equa MultiAcademy Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Appointments will be subject to Enhanced DBS clearance and satisfactory references.
