The position will involve a small amount of KS5 delivery at the Devizes School site.

Salary £20,903 to £22,183 pro rata

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and capable person who is able to work with classes across the curriculum in the absence of teaching staff. 

The successful candidate will be professional and responsible for ensuring quality learning in all lessons where cover is required. They will be able to intervene and support the needs of all students who require additional, or targeted skill support. They will maintain close working relationships with the teaching staff of the whole school and become knowledgeable of the systems in place to ensure positive behaviour for learning.   The role will include taking absence calls from teaching staff early in the morning and liaising with the supply agencies to arrange cover before school starts.

The ideal candidate could be a current or aspiring teacher, but we also welcome individuals who want to work with students, facilitating learning in the classroom. Hours are Monday to Friday 6.30 am to 3.30pm including a 25 minute morning break and a 30 minute lunch break), for 38 weeks of the year (paid for 43.12 weeks).

Facilities Assistant

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated Facilities Assistant to work as part of our friendly site team.  You will need to be trustworthy, flexible, take pride in your work and be able to work with all members of the school community.  You will work under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, with responsibilities for a range of cleaning, porterage and custodial tasks around the school site so the role is physically demanding.

We are looking for someone who has a positive, ‘can do’ attitude and a flexible approach.  You will be a person who thrives on carrying out a varied range of practical tasks and has a willingness to contribute to the continued improvement of the school.

We are looking to recruit four teaching assistants for the start of the Autumn term. The role includes supporting individual students with their learning and generally working within a whole class setting.

We are looking for applicants who have a good standard of literacy and numeracy, are excellent communicators and can relate well to students between 11 and 16 years of age. A genuine interest in supporting students’ learning is essential, and applications are welcome from anyone wanting to gain pre-teacher training experience. Interest or experience in outdoor learning or ELSA is welcomed.

The contracts will be for one year initially and will be renewed, depending on funding.

The salary will be £9.81 per hour.

Cleaning duties include classrooms, corridors and stairs, toilets and changing rooms.

No experience necessary as full training will be given.

We can offer flexible afternoon shifts between the hours of 4pm and 8pm (between 2.15 and 4 hours)
